Emergency Community Meeting
Monday August 25th, 2008
7:00 PM at the Gloria Dei Estates located at Rhawn and Dungan. The Philadelphia School District has contracted with an independent,
for-profit company, Camelot Schools to manage a "DISCIPLANARY SCHOOL" at the site of the former
Orlean's Technical Institute located at 1330 Rhawn Street. "Camelot at Shallcross" as it will be called is expected
to open for business on September 4th, 2008 with an enrollment of 500 students. Please come and voice your opposition to this
plan.

September Events:
Family Night 2008- Friday September 12th, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Mayfair Community Center located at 2990 St Vincent
Street. This event is hosted by State Representative John Perzel and is a great night to bring your family and friends
to. Come meet many local organizations and businesses. Food and refreshments will be provided

October Events:
Senior
Expo 2008- Friday October 10th, 2008 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Fox Chase Recreation Center located at Rockwell and Ridgeway
Streets. This event is hosted by State Representative John Perzel and is a great opportunity for our senior members of our
community to learn of valuable resources available to them. Don't miss out on this annual event!!!
Pumpkin Patch in the Park- Saturday October 18th, 2008 ( rain date Sunday October 19th) location-
Lions Park- Oxford Ave and Loney Street. This event is hosted by the Fox Chase Business Association and will provide
an Arts & Craft table with pumpkins for kids to decorate along with vendors selling decorations and refreshments.
All business' in the area who want to participate can decorate a pumpkin and bring it for display. The Business Association
will then vote on the best decorated pumpkin and a prize will be awarded. Come out and have the kids enjoy a great event.
